Dial 112 ( Response Time :1st in State)

Mira-Bhayander Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate is ranked first in Maharashtra for providing the best Dial 112 service.

The government has implemented the Maharashtra Emergency Response System called Dial 112 to ensure that when a citizen in distress calls for police help on the number 112, accurate information is obtained, police staff are dispatched to the location indicated by the citizen in the shortest possible time, and real-time records of incidents are recorded in the computer. With the successful implementation of this system, the Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar Police Unit has consistently maintained the first position in the average response time of providing police help in the shortest possible time among all the police units of the state of Maharashtra for the last 4 years. To maintain this consistency, this police unit has taken special efforts as follows.

1. Trained police sub-inspector level supervisors have been appointed for day and night duty.

2. The number of dispatchers has been increased due to the increase in the number of calls on the Dial 112 system.

3. To improve the quality of work, dispatchers, responders and supervisors are given frequent training and are guided on how to get help at the earliest.

4. If there is any delay in work, the Control room is immediately contacting the concerned beat marshal which helps in eliminating the delay in work and establishing effective control.

5. Police station who provide help to the victims in the average shortest time are awarded, which boosts their morale and creates enthusiasm for work.

6. By increasing the number of dispatchers, calls coming from PCC / ACC displays on the screens of multiple dispatchers and further help in giving calls to the nearest beat marshal. This helps in reducing the response time and makes it possible to take effective action in the shortest possible time.

7. The patrolling of the Beat Marshals on duty is reviewed through the control room using GPS tracking.
