Drugs Awareness

During the World Anti-Drug Day celebrations on June 26, Honorable Police Commissioner Shri Madhukar Pandey proposed actively engaging college students and organizing inter-college competitions for them. And that marked the beginning of Prabodh, an inter-college competition.

The competition inauguration ceremony took place on June 26, 2024, at L. R. Tiwari Degree College, Mira Road East, and was officiated by Police Commissioner Shri Madhukar Pandey.

On the occasion of World Anti-Drug Day, the Honrable Commissioner of Police provided guidance to all the students present at the college regarding drugs and their harmful effects. At that time, the principals of 11 colleges, along with a total of 500 students and several dignitaries, were present.

During the opening ceremony of the Prabodh program, five types of competitions were organized for the students of the selected 11 colleges, including Rangoli, Poster Making, Reel Making, One Act Play, and Team Dance competitions. Competitions were also held in those colleges on topics such as the best celebration, most innovative ideas, and more.

The final round of Prabodh was held on July 5, 2024, at Lata Mangeshkar Theater, Mira Road East, for all the students who secured first place in these competitions.

All the principals, teachers, and approximately 850 to 900 students from the mentioned colleges, including 1) L. R. Tiwari Junior College and Degree College of Arts, Commerce, and Science 2) L. R. Tiwari Engineering College 3) N. L. Dalmiya college of Arts, Commerce and Science 4) Royal College of Arts, Commerce and Science 5) Shankar Naarayan College of Arts and Commerce 6) Abhinav College of Arts, Commerce and Science 7) Rina Mehta College of Arts, Commerce, Science and Management Studies 8) Saint Gonsalo Garsiya College of Arts and Commerce 9) Annasaheb Vartak College of Arts, Kedarnath Malhotra College of Commerce, E. S. Andres College of Science 10) A. E. Kalasekar College of Arts and Commerce 11) Viva College of Arts, Commerce and Science, participated in this program.The judges for the competition included Honorable Sanjeev Tyagi (Artist), Feroze Khan (Choreographer), Kishan Bal (Artist), and Mrs. Snehalata Maghade (Artist).
