Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate and UNICEF jointly launch "BAL-RAKSHA" special initiative
As per the 100-day action plan of Hon. Chief Minister, various initiatives are being implemented in Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate. As a part of this, Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate and UNICEF (United Nations International Children Emergency Fund) jointly launch a special initiative Child Protection for the safety of children.
Nowadays, the protection of children has become a very important and sensitive issue. The police administration is committed to the safety of children, and the main objective of this initiative, implemented in collaboration with UNICEF, is to create awareness about child rights and protection.
Under this initiative—
- Technical assistance to further empower child-related sections of the police department
- Assessment and improvement of existing procedures
- Designation of special places for children in every police station
- Capacity building of police for child safety
- Organization of community policing programs
By taking cooperation from other concerned departments, UNICEF will assist Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate in all these matters.
The ‘Bal-Raksha’ initiative was inaugurated on 25 March 2025 at the Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate office, also doctors, lawyers, school principals and eminent citizens of the Commissionerate area were also present in large numbers.
Hon. Commissioner of Police Mr. Madhukar Pandey while addressing the gathering said, “Children are important for the bright future of India. Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate is fully committed to their all-round and safe growth.”
The ‘Bal-Raksha’ initiative will be an important step for the safety of young children.
