Many times, complaints of victim women are received in the police stations and at that time, after calling both the parties at the police station, a reconciliation/compromise is reached between them and the complaint of the applicant is resolved or legal action is taken against the non-applicant.However, in some cases, the said woman is harassed again by the non-applicant/related parties. For that, a Pundhairya scheme has been started in the MBVV Commissionerate.(Reference Circular No. POA Mibhavvi/Vachak/Women Grievance Redressal Day/454/2022, Dated 27/12/2022)
A list of victim women complainants in the complaints received in the police station in the last one year is prepared and they are called on Saturdays by the women Police officer/staff and they are asked whether they have any further problems/complaints through . If the woman has a complaint, appropriate legal action is taken against the opponent/non-applicant and the complaint of the woman complainant is resolved.
This initiative is implemented by women police officers.
The Divisional Assistant Police Commissioner supervises this initiative and the Zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police guides and monitors this initiative from time to time.
